MCT’s The Golden (C)age

In 2011, MCT collaborated with the Hamilton Council on Aging to create a forum production about Elder Abuse. This video shows clips from the presentation as well as testimonials from participants and partners.

Thanks to the New Horizons for Senior’s granting program this experience has led MCT to collaborate with the Toronto Council on Aging and the Ontario Network for Prevention of Elder Abuse in efforts to create a new Forum production designed to spark dialogue in the Greater Toronto community.

If you are interested in being involved we will be looking for volunteers and potential participants in the coming months. Stay wired 🙂

Today, Carina received an email from a young girl named Megan Landry. In the email she attached a video she created inspired by some of her own personal experience with bullying. The song is titled “Strong.” She wrote, recorded and filmed everything on her own. Oh, and she is 15.

In the body of the email she wrote:

“I was not going to let them break me. Reality, if it shows that it bothers you, they’ll just do it more. I hope my song will help those that are starting to feel torn down — to rise up! Don’t let anyone make you a victim. They aren’t worth it.”

Rise up.   Speak out.
