Mixed Company Theatre is currently hiring for 3 student positions.

These positions may be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, so applicants must have the following qualifications. Please note these positions are pending funding so final employment details are subject to change.

Qualifications for all roles:

  • Youth aged 30 and under
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Field of study relates to job description
  • Has experience or education relevant to the job description outlined below ideally through post-secondary studies, work experience or a combination
  • Must have access to a computer and stable internet connection

  • 12-week contract 
  • $17/hour
  • 35 hours/week
  • Anticipated start date of June 3, 2024
  • Virtual office with the possibility of some in-person work in Toronto

  • Develop and implement a marketing calendar including social media content, website updates, e-newsletters, and media releases. 
  • Create a plan for higher engagement and an increase in followers on social media platforms 
  • Create engaging, interesting and dynamic content for our social media channels and website 
  • Create professional, modern designs for e-newsletters, promotional posters, flyers, pamphlets and programmes 
  • Develop targeted marketing plans for productions by identifying target audiences for maximum attendance and impact at performance, readings, workshops and events 
  • Implement the recommendations from our marketing report  
  • Seek media coverage to support the marketing and promotion of MCT’s work including preparing and distributing media releases, and building relationships with local media outlets 
  • Update and maintain content on our website, YouTube and any virtual spaces 
  • Update and maintain our master outreach database 
  • Work collaboratively with the MCT team, volunteers, artists and any contracted designers 
  • Implement the recommendations from our business development plans 
  • Consult with the marketing coordinator on brochures and marketing materials targeting corporate clients 
  • Establish relationships with the recommended contacts in our business development plans 
  • Determine new opportunities for our organizational training 
  • Keep current with HR and organizational challenges facing workplaces to support MCT’s expansion of themes for organizational challenges 
  • Update, maintain and create entries in our CRM system to track MCT’s business historical and current relationships with corporate clients 
  • Book organizational and workplace training workshops with clients 
  • Implement the recommendations from our fundraising report 
  • Consult with the marketing coordinator on all media and promotional materials in relation to fundraising, grants, reports and recognition 
  • Research and identify grant opportunities to support MCTs operations and projects 
  • Create and implement a process for donation recognition for private donations 
  • Create a calendar and working plan for a 2024 fundraising campaign 
  • Research and identify opportunities for gifts from Foundations 
  • Research and apply for corporate giving and sponsorship  
  • Grant writing support  
  • Fundraising, sponsorship, and grant research for a Toronto based, international Forum Theatre Festival
