UNDERSTAND HOW SELF-ESTEEM AFFECTS MOMENTS OF DECISION
Forum Theatre portrays a worst-case scenario. This catalyses spectators who then become “Spect-Actors”, replacing characters themselves to change that worst-case for the better. By seeing different people play the same role, an individual is thrown into a creative world of multiple possibilities, perspectives and positive outcomes. MASKS OF MANIPULATION

AUGUST 13 – AUGUST 14/2012

What you’ll learn Invaluable tools for character development and the conflict-resolution process. Developed by Artistic Director, Simon Malbogat, these Commedia dell’Arte-style masks help define our recognition of different external manipulative energies. Each mask presents the face of universally-recognized emotional responses to these manipulative energies, allowing participants in this workshop to develop acute understanding of manipulation: how and why it happens, why we allow it and what to do about it.

FACILITATOR/JOKER* WORKSHOP

* ‘JOKER’ is the term used to identify a facilitator responsible for the Forum Theatre process. A ‘JOKER’ leads present-ation participants as the Forum play evolves, becoming the liaison between spectators and the characters on stage.

AUGUST 15 – AUGUST 17/2012

What you’ll learn Become awake, aware and alert to your own negative patterns, becoming an effective facilitator of the same process for others. Develop skills that draw out self-expression; allow those participating to feel safe, and find their own voices in a unique and supportive environment that promotes dialogue, debate and change. ‘JOKERS’ create Forum Theatre scenarios to facilitate and explore internal manipulators including judgment, comparison and self-importance. All participants in this 3 day workshop receive a detailed supplemental reference handbook of Forum Theatre games and facilitation techniques.
